It’s with great anticipation to have our Pack 101 WEBELO II Scouts spend the weekend with our Boy Scouts at our annual Troop 101 Rocket Weekend at Camp Belk the weekend of November 20-22, 2015. The current plan will be to have you and your WEBELO II Scouts travel over to Camp Belk (35 minute drive) on the morning of Saturday, November 21with plans to arrive at 9:00AM staying over Saturday night with the Boy Scouts. Scout parents are welcome to stay with the Scouts (parents will need to provide for their own tents).
There will be a Saturday night camp fire where we always enjoy some good skits and songs – please have the WEBELO Scouts prepared to do skits.
Scouts and adults planning to attend will need to visit our Troop Website to register @ www.nctroop101.org. Have scouts registered on line before Monday, November 16, 2015.
Meals (Lunch, Dinner and Sunday Breakfast) will be provided for the scouts and adults. Scout and Leaders should plan to have their mess kit and water bottle for meals. The Troop will provide plates, cups and utensils for the Scout Parents. Once we have a headcount of total scouts and leaders attending we will advise if we have enough tents. There will not be platform tents on site – only scout tents.
WEBELO Scouts will need to construct their own rocket(s) for this event (a great den meeting activity). The Troop will supply the engines. I would suggest 2 rockets per scout should one get lost in the trees. Rockets can be found at most craft stores, Target, Wal-Mart, and hobby stores. Rockets will come in different sizes. I would recommend rockets that use the C size engine. Again – the Troop will provide the engines.
On Sunday we will plan to depart at 11:45 AM. WEBELO II Scouts will need to plan for their own transportation. I would recommend carpooling or meeting at the church and driving in as a Den.
