Welcome to the Pack 101 Web SitePack 101 is chartered to St. Margaret's Episcopal Church. It is in the Union District of the North Carolina Central Council.Pack 101 has Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Dens for boys in 1st through 5th grade. Here are descriptions of each rank: Tiger Cub - The Tiger Cub program is for first-grade (or age 7) boys and their adult partners. There are five Tiger Cub achievement areas. The Tiger Cub, working with his adult partner, completes 15 requirements within these areas to earn the Tiger Cub badge. These requirements consist of an exciting series of indoor and outdoor activities just right for a boy in the first grade. Wolf - The Wolf program is for boys who have completed first grade (or are age 8). To earn the Wolf badge, a boy must pass 12 achievements involving simple physical and mental skills. Bear - The Bear rank is for boys who have completed second grade (or are age 9). There are 24 Bear achievements in four categories. The Cub Scout must complete 12 of these to earn the Bear badge. These requirements are somewhat more difficult and challenging than those for Wolf rank. Webelos - This program is for boys who have completed third grade (or are age 10). A boy may begin working on the Webelos badge as soon as he joins a Webelos den. This is the first step in his transition from the Webelos den to the Boy Scout troop. As he completes the requirements found in the Webelos Handbook, he will work on activity badges, attend meetings led by adults, and become familiar with the Boy Scout requirements—all leading to the Arrow of Light Award. Older boys are eligible to participate in Boy Scout Troop 101, which is also chartered to St. Margaret's Episcopal Church. Cub Master: Michael Dixon Asst. As Cub Master of Pack 101 I wanted to invite all parents interested in signing their sons up for Cub Scouts for the first time or transferring from another area to the parent meeting on Sept 4th at 6:30pm at Rea View Elementary School. Pack 101 meets at St. Margarets Episcopal Church located across the street from Rea View. We focus on providing opportunities for Scouts to learn about the outdoors, the community, and having fun. 2008/2009 is shaping up to be a great year for Pack 101 with camping trips planned in the fall to Cane Creek in Waxhaw and Charleston, SC to visit the Yorktown and Ft Sumter and then in the spring to Davidson River Campground in Pisgah and biking the Virginia Creeper Trail just over the border in Virginia. Late winter the competition heats up with our annual pinewood derby race. Please continue to visit our website at www.ncpack101.org to see what other events we have planned or email me at dixonm1@msn.com with any questions.
Dates to remember: Sept 4th Recruiting Night at Rea View 6:30 pm, Sept 11 Parent Orientation at St Margarets 7pm and Oct 10-12 Cane Creek Campout Thanks, Michael Dixon Cane CreekPosted by: admin on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 - 11:31 AM
